A Parent Intention Experience

Sidelines™ is a guided candle-making experience for parents and caregivers who want to be more intentional about how they support their child through a season, performance, competition, or creative pursuit.

This experience is not about becoming the perfect parent. It is about creating enough space to notice how we show up, what our children may need from us, and what we want them to remember about our support.

Who do I want to be for my child this season?

Parents create an Identity Candle that represents the kind of support they hope to offer. Through gentle prompts and meaningful conversation, they reflect on encouragement, resilience, perspective, presence, and the difference between supporting and adding pressure.

Each parent also writes a private To My Athlete letter filled with encouragement, promises, and words their child can carry with them when the time feels right.

What Happens

During Sidelines™, parents and caregivers will:

  • Create an Identity Candle representing the kind of support they want to offer.
  • Reflect on encouragement, presence, perspective, resilience, and how they respond when the stakes feel high.
  • Consider what their child may need from them during wins, losses, pressure, disappointment, and transition.
  • Write a guided To My Athlete letter filled with encouragement, promises, and love.
  • Leave with a personal intention for how they want to show up throughout the season or journey ahead.

At a Glance

Length: Approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours.
Group Size: 6–14 participants.
